Antique, rare and unusual vintage handmade Straw Doll Rattle. Doll is handmade. Very tightly woven straw. Workmanship of this doll is incredible, extraordinary & exquisite! I believe she was made in South America or maybe even in the Philippines. A true work of art!

She is made of soft yellow, hot pink, light green and purple dyed straw. This doll is posed as a fashionable bridesmaid, possibly a bride herself. Maybe she is just supposed to be a young lady who was picking flowers in a field because she is carrying a bouquet of flowers in her hands. She is gorgeous and quite unique.

Her hat and dress are made of soft yellow with hot pink and light green dyed woven straw. Her long braids are made of soft yellow and purple dyed woven straw. She has hot pink dyed woven straw flowers or earrings where her ears belong. She has dyed purple woven straw eyes. Hot pink dyed woven straw mouth. Hot pink and soft yellow dyed woven straw shawl. There appear to be some metal pieces inside her bossom. When you grab the doll by the waist you can shake the doll and she will rattle.

Maybe this doll was made by a pregnant woman as a rattle to entertain her unborn baby or maybe it was made as a very special gift to a newborn baby's mother. This doll is very old, probably from the 1930's. I can not give an exact date but she is very nice.....

I am an antiques collector for over 40 years. I've rarely seen this type of doll before. I've enjoyed her for over fifteen years and now I am selling her. This doll has been sitting on top of my grandmother clock since the day I purchased her from a very old lady who was a collector herself. THIS DOLL IS NOT A TOY. This doll is very fragile. She is in excellent condition now but in a child's hands she would definitely be destroyed. Please, serious buyers only.

SIZE: Doll is 13 inches tall and the dress is 10 inches wide........ CLICK ON PICTURES BELOW TO ENLARGE THEM
