"William
never forgot the advice he received on the tow-path, because that day
was a turning point in his
whole life. When he began to earn money, he remembered the words of the
old canal-boat captain:
'Give the Lord all that belongs to Him out of every dollar you earn.'
From the very first of his business earnings, William put aside
one tenth for the work of the Lord.
As he prospered, the percentage for the Lord also grew,
and became as much as fifty per cent of his earnings for the Kingdom."
